Well, ok, just a little happier, but CGW parts will get me there as soon as I have time to install them.

This gun fits me well and the TDA manual of arms really gels with my software. The HK sold to a coworker without me even trying to sell it so I picked up a UG P-07. There is no way I would feel comfortable carryng a striker-fired gun appendix, though. I was carrying IWB behind the hip, though, and after working with that for a year through training classes and a lot of dry fire drills, I knew it was a matter of time before I switched back to appendix carry - boring details aside, my physiology is just not well suited to reaching behind the hip to draw or reholster. When I started carrying the HK, I made the choice to carry with a weaponlight and really got hooked on that. The VP9 was great for a striker-fired pistol and I also carried it for that year, but as the end of the year approached I knew a change was coming with it. I committed myself to spending a year with the HK, concentrating on honing basic skills. I had planned to keep one of the four but ended up selling all and picking up an HK VP9 and a case of ammo instead. Hard times hit, though, and I had to sell them. all got Cajunized, all were a true pleasure to shoot. I dived hard into steel-framed CZs, first with a pair of 75BDs and then an SP-01 and a PCR. I also picked up a small carry gun, a Springfield Armory XDs, that shot really well for its size but was surprisingly uncomfortable to carry.

I had a brief period where I picked up an S&W M&P full size and a compact, both fitted with APEX internals, but found both to be less accurate than the Glocks I struggled to shoot with any acceptable proficiency. I loved everything about the design but hated the triggers and the ergonomics were just horrible for me. I traded the XDm for a Glock 19 and spent the next several years with Glocks of all calibers and sizes. You will that the Mk will soon become your favorite pistol. I know that this does not answer your question, but it is just a though. The striker-fired semiautomatic pistol was designed with a Browning-Petter-SIG. When it was previewed at the end of 1998 and first made available starting in 1999, the Kahr MK9 became the smallest 9 Para pistol on the market at its debut. I find them very fast for target acquisition and I like them better than the sights I have on my Mk9 Elite, o3. The Kahr MK9 in 9 mm Luger is the handgun for hunters who like the feel of confidence found in steel. The XS Big Dot sights I put on it certainly contributed to that (more marketing *sigh*) but overall the pistol just wasn't good to me or for me. Jump to Latest Follow 1 - 16 of 16 Posts. I was blinded by the marketing and was really disappointed with the results. My first was a Springfield Armory XDm 9mm - bought when they first hit the market and I was brand new to pistol shooting. The Elite version of the pistol offers a polished feed ramp, polished and deburred slide, beveled magazine well, and enlarged trigger with a smoother action. The short list for me is every non-CZ pistol Options offered with the K9 include Tritium night sights, and wood Hogue grips.

Since its introduction the pistol’s design and construction have undergone a number of improvements including slightly increased chamber dimensions and the use of a Teflon electroless nickel composite material for some of the internal moving parts which improved reliability. In 1998 it was approved for off duty and backup carry by the New York City Police Department (NYPD) but as of December 2011, the Kahr K9 is no longer authorized by the NYPD as Kahr Arms was not able to increase the trigger pull to the NYPD specifications. With a reputation for both quality of construction and reliability since its introduction the pistol has remained popular with both the police and civilian markets. It was intended to address the police backup / off duty and civilian concealed carry markets. The original weapon in the series, the K9, was introduced in 1995 and features a double action only (DAO) trigger mechanism with a Locked breech recoil operated action.
